Gold Crimson Through Flowing Waters
40" x 30"
In the early 2000’s, Karen Keene Day spent time visiting a small island on St. Helena’s Island, South Carolina, called Little Horse Island. There was a small band of Marsh Tacky wild horses that lived in the marsh by the salt water seas that came in from the Atlantic ocean. Karen did a series of “Through Flowing Waters”. “Gold Crimson Through Flowing Waters” was of a beautiful mature mare she found especially graceful. One day she was coming out of the marsh up and over an embankment. The way she moved, turned and tilted her head was so beautiful and elegant.
